The olfactory part of the exhibition is made possible thanks to the Osmotheque de Versailles, France. Its precious mission is to preserve the world heritage of perfumery and to provide us with access to forgotten fragrances. Formulas are archived and perfumes can be recreated to the identical despite today’s norms in toxicology. Patricia de Nicolaï, president of the Osmotheque gave a conference about François Coty for the opening.
The sensory walk
The visitor is invited to smell, look and listen to fragrance. Eight steps, eight flasks taken from the collection. Century-old objects that used to represent, back in the days an unprecedented modernity. A melody acts as an olfactory guide. The purpose of this journey is to increase, in everyone’s sensitivity, the appreciation of a disappeared fragrance and to trigger emotions.
